About
Wazahat Ullah (a.k.a Wazahat Sami) is currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the Sheikh Hasina University, Netrokona. Prior to joining Sheikh Hasina University, Wazahat served as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the East Delta University, Chattogram for three months and at the Varendra University, Rajshahi, for more than one and a half year. He also served as a member of the Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC) of the Department of Economics under the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of both the East Delta University and Varendra University.
Wazahat is a young economic researcher and academician who holds Masters and Bachelor degrees both in Economics from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, securing first and second positions, respectively. For his outstanding result at the undergraduate level, he is awarded with the University Grant Commission (UGC) scholarship in 2020. He has proficiency with various statistical software such as EViews, gretl and R.
His research interests include Macroeconomics, Energy Economics, Aquaculture and Marine Resources, Development Economics and Time Series Econometrics. At present, however, his focus area also includes poverty, unequal distribution of income and wealth in the society, women, indigenous and people with lower socio-economic status.
